Overview

The role will be responsible for designing and developing the processes from the ground up using various cutting-edge manufacturing tools to create a world class manufacturing facility. The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will be responsible from the standard time analysis, equipment specifications, station layout, and ultimately the execution of lean process on the shop floor. This role will also work hand-in-hand with the design engineering team to problem solve vehicle-related concerns during production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop the manufacturing process for general assembly
  • Create standard times for processes using CANOO Methods Time Measurement (MTM)
  • Write specifications for manufacturing equipment
  • Manage equipment suppliers to deliver lean equipment within budget and schedule
  • Improve station layouts for efficiency and ergonomics with Group Leaders. Perform line balances to improve quality while reducing waste, optimize the process
  • Problem solves vehicle concerns with Design Responsible Engineers
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to enhance manufacturability of the vehicle
  • Track and close build issues
  • Program and optimize tightening torque tool programs
  • Vehicle data related tools and equipment moves will be performed by manufacturing engineering
  • Create process planning documentation, for example man-machine charts, PFMEA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology discipline
  • 5+ Years in automotive manufacturing engineering is encouraged
  • Experience using Catia V5, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel to equipment suppliers and to the Contract Manufacturer
  • Project management experience
  • Experience developing PFMEA’s, GD&T studies and MTM
