Responsibilities

  • Responsible team member in Pre-series, model changeover, new part introduction, part changes and lead logistics related activities in an automotive production environment. Help manage associated part complexities with uncertainty & undefined process, but be able to drive & manage part tracking, delivery, inventory requirements and timely issue resolution to successfully achieve planned pilot builds
  • Under the guidance of Manager – Pre series, and working alongwith Logistics Specialist and Material Planners, resolve escalated problems and to maintain accurate part data to reflect confirmed delivery quantities and due dates from suppliers, validate, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies. Work closely with engineering, purchasing, advance manufacturing engineering and factory operations teams to ensure timely build and communication
  • Support and ensure timely delivery of in transit / delivered properties (parts, subassemblies, finished products)
  • Work in conjunction with engineering, Supply Chain/purchasing and manufacturing to support material changes resulting from Change action, plan for new material and minimize obsolescence of old material
  • Effectively communicate material requirements and provide ongoing transparency of inventory levels and ensure continuous inventory accuracy, tracking down to revision level
  • As assigned, Support & manage in- Person pilot/pre-series pilot builds and resolve all part related issues which include, but not limited to, accurate tracking revision & quality levels, deviations, change management, etc. Represent logistics in material review board & coordinate build activities/calendar with engineering, manufacturing & quality
  • Generate and publish performance metrics related to On Time Delivery of parts, in process shipments, Finished Vehicle Shipments
  • Work in conjunction with Logistics Planning, Operations and Logistics Engineering teams to ensure all logistics activities are coordinated to deliver a flawless launch i.e. Inbound Freight, Finished Vehicle Logistics, Material Flow, Freight, Packaging, Engineering Change, Warehousing, Systems and Trade compliance
  • Support programs from prototype phase through start of production and own the transition plan for the program / parts to be handed over to on-going production
  • Work towards and support a culture of continuous improvement and work to make business and department improvements wherever possible
  • Work with Pre-series team members and document best practices and lessons learned throughout the duration of the program, and share with Management for reflections & next steps

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, supply chain management or purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of related automotive industry experience and LEAN manufacturing methods & philosophies.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with success in working across organizations at all levels
  • Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills with high degree of expertise in MS office tools
  • Analytical background preferred
  • Frequent travel to support the business may be required
  • Relocation to production factory location may be required
