  • Utilize ‘Issue and Project tracking software’ to drive forward resolution
  • Provide tooling cost estimates
  • Create or maintain stamping trackers to ensure nothing is missed from concept to production
  • Create full process simulations using Autoform
  • Provide feasibility support for Hot Stamping, Roll Form & Cold stamping
  • Create concept processes for parts within cost & quality targets (Prog, transfer and tandem lines)
  • Provide guidance to simulation engineers inhouse or externally
  • Follow simulation guidelines & die design standards
  • Generate detailed studies & provide recommendations for solving stamping process issues
  • Help manage part design changes from the customer and product designers
  • Evaluate change costs and provide feedback to the project team
  • Work with product design & BIW to solve feasibility issues
  • Work with dimensional quality engineer to ensure targets are met and help define GD&T
  • Work with suppliers to ensure production process adopted meets requirements for cost & quality
  • Works with suppliers performing die design reviews ensuring performance targets are met
  • Oversight of package of work from concept through to home-line activities
  • Responsible for schedule, hi-lighting risks & opportunities
  • Ensures all activities in place to hold schedule


  • Deep understanding of stamping processes & die design is required
  • User understands material properties and coatings for steel & aluminum
  • 7+ Years of simulation / die design experience & die build / tryout
  • 2+ Years of simulation / die design experience preferred in class ‘A’ parts, aluminum & steel (HSS/AHSS)
  • Able to perform 3-D modeling and surfacing using CATIA
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize proven design methodologies
  • Willing to adapt to and/or learn new design practices
  • Individual designer skill level – Intermediate to Excellent
  • User must be willing to travel to support die build activities and launch events
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
