Overview

Develop and lead an innovative, practical, and benchmark approach for Office and Industrial Health, Safety, and Environment elements

Responsibilities

  • The HSE Director is the face, voice, and heart of Canoo, as the liaison between all our employees, machines, methods, processes, equipment, and policies
  • The HSE Director must continuously inspect, investigate, and improve the feasibility and safety of all methods, procedures, conveyance processes standards, and build of the products in trial and series production, and hold responsibility from before launch through to the long-term steady-state of the shop
  • The HSE Director supports the functional leaders, shift leaders, group leaders, staff and team leaders, and team members, as they create the benchmark safety and quality, at the lowest cost

The HSE Director must ensure:

  • Excellent occupationa workplace safety through avid use of 5S methodologies
  • Responsible fo Safety Engineering, Wellness, Preventive methods, Worker-Compensation coordination, and Industrial Hygiene
  • Responsible for First and Safety response and monitoring
  • Responsible for Communication, Prevention, Ergonomics, Safety Training and Coordination, and technical reviews and improvements
  • Responsible for risk control, using best practices of the Canoo Production System
  • Responsible for Environmental engineering, Hazmat control, and clear air efforts
  • Responsible for testing and compliance
  • Initiating personal development and qualification together with others in Manufacturing and all functional groups
  • Define the work objectives and review the work results. Assure development and qualification of employees regarding production and project work. Professional management of the production contact persons from the departments (including development)

 

The HSE Lead must manage their business, so that:

  • Every shop can achieve the production targets, by creating, implementing, and supporting the entire Manufacturing organization

Qualifications

Required

  • Prefered Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution
  • Grounded with Finance, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Operations & Technology or equivalent 15 years of experience

Preferred

  • Experience with statistical analysis, work measurement and process analysis
  • Ability to multitask across multiple projects
  • Demonstrated strong work-ethic, initiative, and strong critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in necessary tools (hardware and software)
  • Frequent travel between manufacturing, business, and supplier sites, including overnight.
  • Confident decision-making
  • Team supervision or leadership experience also preferred
