The Canoo team is looking to add a Director of IT, Manufacturing and Engineering operations located in our newly created Tulsa facility. This position will be responsible for providing IT services to our manufacturing plant and our engineering teams. Aligning closely with our Texas based teams – including Security, IT Operations, IT Helpdesk, and others – this position will manage the day-to-day operations of our facility.


  • Experience in manufacturing, plant, and engineering operations
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a 'start-up' type environment
  • Knowledge in network operations and application management.
  • Maintaining customer relationships and improving response and delivery times
  • Updating service methods to improve overall efficiency
  • Develops IT management procedures and processes that will suit the needs of the Facilities now and in the future
  • Build an IT team to support the Tulsa and Pryor, OK facilities as well as facilities in Arkansas
  • Oversee building access and facility use for internal staff use, board meetings, special events, and external rentals
  • Check and maintain the proper function of on-site IT systems and equipment such as WiFi, printers, teleconferencing tools, and other company owned assets
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities, such as managing maintenance issues, tracking fixed assets, and coordinating fixes for major and emergency repair
  • Ensure proper operation of physical access control of the workplace and manage relationships with access and security control system vendors or a team of security professionals
  • Assist in commissioning new spaces (facilities, labs, offices) new office set-up


Required Experience

  • Ability to work independently and drive solutions to completion
  • Strong knowledge of Office365, Azure Threat Protection and Azure AD
  • Working knowledge of Jira
  • Previous manufacturing, plant and engineering operations experience and knowledge
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technology environment; Associates Degree or higher in an IT related - 4-year degree preferred
  • Minimal 7 years supervisory experience
  • Strong people and team management skills including experience with people
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • Ability to communicate and present to the executive team

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience in the automotive industry
