As the Transportation and Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising inbound and outbound parts shipments of service parts, both domestically and internationally. Reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain, the successful candidate will participate in the selection and supervision of third-party logistics providers: air, ocean, truck, last-mile, and 3PL. This position will also leverage data and systems to ensure parts are shipped in the most cost effective and efficient manner.


  • Plan and supervise shipments from production and suppliers to service facilities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of inbound/outbound freight management.
  • Oversee freight bill payment and audit.
  • Organize transportation routes and shipments with service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations (DOT, CTPAT, EPA, etc.).
  • Establish and monitor KPI’s and track service parts orders through the supply chain.
  • Drive efficiency and innovation through the logistics network by continuously seeking opportunities to reduce cost, streamline processes, and improve carrier performance.
  • Develop a reverse logistics strategy for normal and warranty parts returns.
  • Establish partnership with transportation carriers, freight forwarders, 3PL’s and other transportation service providers.


  • A Batchelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of parts transportation experience with a fast-paced organization.
  • Familiarity with TMS software, like Descartes, Freightview, and FarEye.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A thorough understanding of government regulations for transportation of service parts, especially hazardous materials.
  • A passion for the customer and a drive to achieve high service levels.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and take decisive action when problems arise.
  • Excels at working in cross-functional, agile teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Transportation experience with an OEM or automotive supplier at HQ level.
