Overview

The Program Manager will effectively organize and drive programs and activities to support meeting company milestones. The role is responsible for having a high level of interaction across all departments to ensure requirements are met in a timely, efficient, and detailed manner.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the software roadmap with milestones and deliverables to align with the vehicle timeline
  • Support definition, implementation, and execution of domain project requirements, workflows and plans while managing timelines, communications, quality, risks, uncovering roadblocks, defining critical paths, identifying resource constraints, and any other issues that arise
  • Finalize project scope, define initial assumptions, and secure project resources
  • Manage software release and validation cadence
  • Monitor budgetary and CAPX spend
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify the success criteria of the project
  • Provide insight around potential risks and opportunities, resolve conflict, initiate resolution, and deliver results
  • Identify and document all project milestones and deliverables, keep project plans up to date, including resource allocations, tracking hours, monitoring schedules, milestones, deliverables, updating percentage completion, etc.
  • Continuously monitor and measure project processes and activities to identify and communicate potential issues, risks, or problems in a timely fashion and provide corrective action options to drive to resolution
  • Escalate schedule delays due to issues and risks
  • Track and manage change requests to scope for internal and external stakeholders
  • Hands-on and be able to work directly with nominated Suppliers in ensuring key deliverables/milestones are met
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders/suppliers
  • Maintain Open Issues lists and ensures effective and on time closure of such issues
  • Create formal project communication plans key project metrics and dashboards for project status communication

Qualifications

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or business management or related field
  • 10+ years of proven experience in delivering complex projects in automotive or engineering industries
  • Hands-on experience with roadmap planning for software-based feature development.
  • Experience in planning SAE L2 feature set for a mass production vehicle.
  • Experience with development of camera and radar-based driver assistance systems.
  • Experience with software development in Linux and/or QNX
  • Proven experience in program management and ability to support change
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like system architecture, hardware, BSP, security, cloud and vehicle engineering in developing robust end to end solutions
  • Knowledge of automotive software development and functional safety principles
  • Understanding of the automotive design cycle & design problem solving processes
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder requirements and relationships
  • Experience in project management including related software and tools

Travel Requirements

Travel to support workshops or Supplier meetings as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use.
