Facilitate the safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale production goals of the Canoo Vehicle Program, specific to the Inbound Logistics, Transportation & Warehousing requirements


The Manager must ensure:

  • The Department/Shop can achieve the production targets, by creating, implementing, and supporting materials for the entire Manufacturing organization.
  • Responsible for ongoing kaizen (improvements)
  • Responsible to work with 4PL for planning Transportation and Warehouse operations
  • Responsible to work with 4PL for planning Repackaging, Kitting, Sequencing and other associated operations
  • Plan to work with 4PL for Warehousing and Supermarkets.
  • Support to reduce material scrap & obsolesce
  • Plan to support specifications and material changes, introduction, and analyses.


  • As the Inbound Logistics/Warehouse Planning Manager for Bentonville Logistics Material Planning Team, the team member’s responsibilities will be to drive the planning activities needed to receive, store and supply the material needed for production in timely manner, assure inventory accuracy in support of lean manufacturing principles, uninterrupted production, and audit compliance
  • The candidate will be responsible for Bentonville Inbound Logistics and Warehouse planning
  • Calculate inbound transportation budget for a new plant and outbound cost per unit for a new vehicle
  • Develop models using modelling tools to evaluate the logistics network, create dedicated route design, strategic network analysis, conduct scenario analysis and identify opportunities across the network to optimize for speed (capacity), cost (total logistics expense), resiliency, inventory, and quality (on-time delivery) parameters and provide recommendations to the team
  • Responsible for network engineering projects, generation of strategic cost savings using technology tools, statistical analysis, and additional technical tools.
  • Develop KPI’s that will ensure a lean and robust operational planning, support the implementation of continuous improvement ideas.
  • Track, analyze and communicate key performance metrics
  • Design, build, test, and validate next-gen analytics applications including KPI dashboards, and data visualizations to develop a successful end to end optimization
  • Conduct studies for New Parts Introduction, engineering part changes and disposition of excess/obsolete material
  • Should be able to prepare and make presentations to relevant stakeholders, documenting processes, and implementing continuous improvement projects
  • Deep understanding of logistics inbound network set up
  • Knowledge of creating transportation utilization calculation for different modes of transportation (such as rail, truck)
  • Evaluation of freight network for optimization opportunities
  • Analysis of logistics costs to determine optimal transportation mode and routing
  • Conducts Supply Chain and/or inventory analysis
  • Determines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, driver and equipment utilization charts
  • Provide requested evidence and support audit requirements



  • Must have excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience and ability to utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and automotive optimization tools.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts and quickly adapt to changing circumstances/environment
  • Ability to analyze problems and opportunities and systematically approach them to make improvements both short term and long term 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. An equivalent combination of exceptional ability including education, training, and experience may be considered
  • LEAN, or Six Sigma Certifications a plus
  • 7+ years relevant experience with automotive logistics, transportation, and global trade process and procedures, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • 7+ years of related automotive industry experience and LEAN manufacturing
  • 3+ years direct leadership experience
  • EV & Hazmat parts & process experience
  • Strong knowledge of multi-modal logistics pricing models (air, rail, truck, ocean, customs brokerage)
  • Strong written, verbal communication / interpersonal skills and presentation skills. Ability to articulate findings, concepts, and ideas in a concise manner to all levels of management.
  • Creative approach by thinking outside the box and fighting through challenges and adversity.
  • Strong organizational skill with the ability to manage both strategic and tactical responsibilities.
  • Evidence of customer-focused, both internal and external, and result-oriented management style.
  • A passionate and high energy leader, who possesses diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to positively influence others.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Must be able to work in teams and to lead small project groups
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, Automation Now, etc is a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Concepts & Problem Solving tools (5 Whys, 5S, PDCA, VSM)
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus
  • Handle technical details relating to international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time with the ability to meet project timelines.
  • Strong computer proficiency in PC systems & MS Office applications. Tableau working experience a plus.
  • Experience with TMS software applications
  • Frequent travel required to meet business needs
