Overview

Own the suspension design and collaborate with other stakeholders to deliver vehicle performance, packaging, mass, cost and timing targets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and release of suspension control arms, springs, bushings, ball joints, links, and fasteners
  • Manage deliverables and suppliers to meet program milestones and prototype builds
  • Construct Design Verification Plan (DVP)
  • Coordinate with manufacturing group on mass production assembly solutions
  • Support mass and cost evaluations
  • Identify, prove, and implement cost saving proposals
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics to determine key driving attributes

Qualifications

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • 10-15 years of Chassis Design experience
  • Experience with CATIA
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical Chassis components
  • Understanding of Vehicle Dynamics and NVH
  • Experience with Kinematics & Compliance (K&C)

PreferredExperience  

  • Vehicle Dynamics specialist
  • Understanding of tire dynamics
  • Design and development of Steering Systems

 While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use.
