Overview

The Digital Product Software Engineering team is focused on bringing to market consumer experiences revolved around Canoo’s vehicles, ecommerce website, fleet management system, and broader Vehicle Ownership Ecosystem. Within this team, the senior java developer will be a key contributor to our QA Automation Framework and mobile middleware using Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an agile team to deliver the full lifecycle of software, including architecture, design, development, testing and deployment
  • Design, develop, and maintain code that meets requirements, is high quality, and performs efficiently and effectively to provide a great customer experience.
  • Incorporate standards and best practices, including performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Update and maintain system design documents.
  • Review and provide feedback on functional and technical requirements.
  • Working closely with solutions architects to ensure system design follows the industry best practices and standards that aligned with the Judiciary framework.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, proactively recommend solutions that improve performance, reliability, and security.
  • Support application bug fixes, enhancements, and business policy requirements adhering to the best practices. Evaluate and determine root cause and resolve production support issues in a timely manner.
  • Writes effective, readable, and maintainable code modules and unit tests
  • Participates in reviews of software code and technical documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major) OR equivalent professional experinece.
  • 7+ years’ experience developing Java applications
  • Familiar with microservice design and implementations
  • IDEs (Eclipse, IntelliJ)
  • Java Web Services, both SOAP (JAX-WS) & REST (JAX-RS, RESTEasy, Spring)
  • Maven/Ant/Gradle and version control (Git preferred)
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • Spring/Spring Boot
  • PL/SQL development
  • Experience in software engineering and design architectures.
  • Experience and understanding of best practices regarding system security measure
  • Experience with building and migration software and services to align to strategic business needs and goals.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with other software developers, business owners, and management

 Preferred Experience 

  • Kotlin experience a plus
  • Jenkins CI/CD, JFrog, containerization
  • Familiarity with Kafka
