Job Purpose 

Canoo is looking for an energetic, results-oriented Diagnostics Program Lead that desires an exciting career in the Electric Vehicle Industry. 



  • Responsible for the diagnostic software/platform roadmap, including strategy execution 
  • Champion critical platform components related to diagnostics (physical and remote) 
  • Accountable for decisions with engineering teams on the HW needed for diagnostics and vehicle testing 
  • Collaborating with software/vehicle engineering to ensure successful development and deployment of diagnostic features 
  • Available to serve as a hands-on escalation for complex diagnosis and debug situations 
  • Produce high quality diagnostics documentation, including test/repair plans 
  • Evaluate and perform remote repairs that can be performed without local vehicle access 
  • Own the end-to-end diagnostic process and tooling across the ecosystem 
  • Support ongoing development that leads to innovative solutions for predictive/preventative service and analytics 
  • Participate in cross-functional/cross-regional projects to improve the diagnostics posture across the entire enterprise 
  • Work closely with aligned suppliers to deliver on timelines, pricing, etc. 


Required Experience 

  • 5+ years’ experience in an EV service role with hands-on experience using diagnostics tools and network protocols (i.e., ECU troubleshooting on CAN/LIN/Body Bus, etc.) 
  • 5+ years’ experience working with high-voltage systems, certification a plus 
  • 5+ years’ experience with mechanical, thermal, electrics, data processing, and systems 
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a mobile/remote first service environment 
  • 3+ years’ experience with remote diagnostics platforms 
  • 3+ years’ experience with over-the-air platforms and software update methodologies 
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and analyzers (Vector suite, Wireshark, etc.) 
  • Demonstrated experience in implementation across cross functional projects. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity 
  • Maintain highly organized project plans and prepare presentations for varying audiences 
  • Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism, including professional appearance and work ethic 
  • Proactive and assertive leadership abilities and keen decision-making skills 
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment 

Preferred Experience 

  • 2+ years’ experience diagnosing and solving the most complex of EV situations 
  • 2+ years' experience with cloud or cloud technologies 
  • 2+ years’ experience with service operations/engineering in the automotive industry 
  • Solid understanding of quantitative and statistical approaches to business analysis related to revenue analytics and revenue optimization 
  • Have a passion for sustainable transportation and changing the automotive industry
