Overview

Job Purpose

The NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) Engineer  will work with the engineering teams as well as other stakeholders to influence and drive our product designs to achieve the components and overall vehicle NVH targets

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (80s of the Position

 

Technical

  • Benchmark competitor set for target references. Plan and execute real-world evaluations & collect jury feedback to feed into Attribute Target Book
  • Define Attributes target (primary, secondary, tertiary, etc) based on benchmarking data, Canoo product pillars, specific product requirements and certification requirements (ie AVAS, etc)
  • Lead detailed technical discussions of components affecting NVH and influence/drive engineers design to attend the NVH targets. Review and assess Design proposals, CAD designs, identifying areas for improvement
  • Lead/support the creation of DVP&R's for the NVH validation
  • Execute development and validation testing to confirm attribute performance
  • Analyze test results, raise and track JIRA Concerns when performance is not met

Non-Technical

  • Support the NVH workstream, processes, documents, and metrics definition
  • Lead/Support the respective Attribute Team (cross-functional, internal/external stakeholders and potentially suppliers) to define and meet the NVH goals
  • Maintain a standard Scorecard, Attribute Target Book, ensure effective and on time closure of issues. Execute a frequent and robust escalation process 
  • Identify and document all project deliverables and the timing of those milestones within an overall program framework
  • Weekly report out development status (Scorecard) and track KPI's
  • Provide insight around potential risks and opportunities, resolve conflict, initiate resolution and deliver results

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering
  • Significant technical knowledge of Electric Vehicles propulsion systems, NVH for components and overall vehicle. Ability to conduct technical discussions related to components affecting NVH
  • Minimum of 5 years of vehicle NVH and /or NVH test engineering experience
  • Experience working cross functionally with engineering teams
  • Proven ability to identify and solve complex problems. Use evidence based rational to support arguments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to display a high level of maturity, work as a member of a small nimble team, easy to do business with and work in a self-directed manner
  • Advanced skillset with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Power Point. Knowledge of Atlassian JIRA and Siemens Polarion. Ability to quickly learn new program management software tools
  • Must be able to pass Canoo’s electric vehicle safety and operations test
