Overview

The Senior Electronics Rework Technician will be a key supporting player in the success of the team.  The technicians work side by side with the engineering team to deliver electronics products and test equipment to the program.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (80s of the Position) 

  • Solder and de-solder fine pitch (QFP, 0402, etc) SMT and through hole components
  • Ability to de-solder components without damaging the underlying PCB
  • Workmanship and inspection to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standard
  • Manage inventory of parts
  • Place orders for material when inventory is low or as needed
  • Follow engineering instructions to prepare boards/units for tests
  • Record all issues in digital ticketing system
  • Support the engineering and test teams to execute functional tests
  • Harness assembly and rework to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Test rack assembly
  • Communicate with team daily
  • General lab management/organization, cleaning, sweeping, etc.

Qualifications

Required Experience 

  • Proficient with small hand and power tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, crimpers, strippers, etc)
  • General computer skills (web browsers, email, instant messaging)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of PCBA rework – from removing and replacing high wattage components to small fine pitch components.
  • Be able to follow basic schematics drawings, professional or hand drawn.

 

PreferredExperience  

  • IPC certified for SMT rework
  • ESD handling experience

Physical Requirements for Non-Physical Positions

 

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use. Some aid in magnification may be required for certain tasks to aid in board level rework.

 

Physical Requirements for Physical Positions

 

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to lift up to 25 or more pounds, stand, sit, bend/stoop, or operate office equipment or machinery.

Salary will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, training, skillset, location, etc.  Expected salary range in CA – $73,800 - $86,700
