The Security team at Canoo has an opening for a Senior Security Engineer. You will be a key technical leader and a member of a diversified team of network engineering professionals. The individual must have implementation expertise in network security and must have worked in a large-scale Enterprise Environment including experience in traditional data centers, private and public cloud to protect virtualized workloads as well as experience with cloud-based secure web gateway (SWG) platforms.

• 10+ years highly technical experience with Network Security implementations spanning traditional data center and cloud
• Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Proxies, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Zero Trust, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Firewall Rule Management
• Privilege Access Management, Identity Governance and Provisioning
• DevSecOps - The ability to use automation to drive delivery by leveraging APIs, policy as code (Terraform). If no prior experience, must be open to training / understanding automation to get to desired state work
• Working knowledge of the NIST CSF and industry standards
• Solid understanding of Agile/scrum environment producing incremental deliveries
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or similar preferred
• Demonstrated success in a complex enterprise environment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to partner and collaborate with other teams effectively across the enterprise. Ability to think and work independently

• BS degree in Computer Science / Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Thorough understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems; knowledge of Operating System internals (memory management, scheduling, TCP/IP stack).
• Deep understanding of Internet protocols including TCP/IP and HTTP
• Experience with securing the software development life cycle, from requirements to design, implementation, testing, and release
• Ability to work on multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience 

• Cloud Certifications on AWS/GCP/Azure
