This position is a great opportunity to grow your experience in a young company as it grows and evolves. As a Media & Marketing Copywriter, you will work closely with the senior executive team to plan, create, and publish written and visual media and marketing content across multiple channels for the office of the CEO and the CANOO brand. This individual will have a proven track-record of copywriting, content creation and publishing.


This position will require some travel for meetings and events, and you will work out of CANOO's Justin Office.


At CANOO, our team members volunteer for their specific missions with clear output driven deliverables based on what we call “80s” (primary responsibilities) and “20s” (secondary and tertiary responsibilities).


The 80s:

  • Conceive, develop, and implement copy/content for a variety of mediums and formats including web, print, digital/social media, blogs, newsletters, public speaking, press releases, investor relations, etc.
  • Support the broader events, public relations, marketing & sales teams with the development of content for sales and marketing collaterals, white papers, blogs, strategy papers, and other activities.
  • Develop thought leadership for the organization leveraging members of the executive management team and subject matter experts.

The 20s:

  • Assist with media editorial calendars and plan, create and publish creative content across all media properties.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors whose products or services will be needed for the product.


  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least three years of experience as a copywriter, ideally within a creative agency.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing external communications, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization's mission, vision, values and goals
  • Advanced and proven ability and experience of writing social media and marketing content
  • Well versed in publishing software, graphical and video editing software
  • Strong research skills
  • Experience working with an agency is a plus
  • Appetite for fast paced environment and unpredictable travel schedule
