Overview

The Canoo R3pi team is looking for a highly passionate and professional automotive painter and body technician. This position is responsible for the complete lifecycle of the paint application process, minor repairs, sanding, grinding, and paint preparation.

 As needed, this position will also be responsible with paint touch-up, wet sanding, buffing and paintless dent removal (PDR).

Responsibilities

  

  • Color sand and buff vehicles and components. 
  • Complete paint application
  • Minor repairs including sanding and body work
  • Complete paint preparation including color matching and mixing
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired, and cleaned as required
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of all personal protective equipment, tools, and chemicals related to the refinishing process
  • Promote shop cleanliness
  • Interior and exterior detailing, interior repair, inventory and paint preparation

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in high end automotive paint or equivalent experience 
  • Experience in color and finish development 
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in the preparation of molds  
  • Skilled at achieving show quality finishes  

Travel Requirements:

  • 20 to 30% travel required throughout the U.S. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to lift up to 25-50 or more pounds, stand, sit, bend/stoop, or operate office equipment or machinery.
