Overview

Main scope of the Vehicle Performance team is to deliver the following attributes for the vehicle programs: Range/ Efficiency, Charging performance, On Road performance, Gradeability, Driveability and off Road

 

Responsibilities

 

Technical

1-Benchmark and targets

  • Benchmark competitor set for target Plan and execute real-world evaluations & collect jury feedback to feed into Attribute Target Book
  • Define Attributes target (primary, secondary, tertiary, etc) based on benchmarking data, Canoo product pillars, specific product requirements and certification requirements
  • Own the Attribute Target Book, align targets with leadership and keep status updated on a weekly basis

2- Technical content

  • Lead detailed technical discussions of all components affecting vehicle performance
  • Vehicle Range - own  a Range Waterfall and keep updated on a weekly basis
  • Review and assess Design proposals, Calibration proposals, CAD designs, identifying areas for improvement
  • Lead/support parameters/design optimization to improve vehicle performance and EPA/WLTP range. Support development of a real life range model customized to specific vehicle segments

      3- Testing

  • Lead the creation of DVP&R's for the validation of respective attributes
  • Support/ Execute validation testing to confirm attribute performance. Include trips to test facilities
  • Develop and Review with stakeholders Test Reports
  • Analyze test results, raise and track JIRA Concerns when performance is not met, follow up resolution

 

Non-Technical

  • Define the Vehicle Attribute workstream, processes, documents, and metrics
  • Lead the respective Attribute Team (cross-functional, internal/external stakeholders and potentially suppliers) to define and meet the Vehicle Performance goals
  • Maintain a standard Scorecard, Attribute Target Book, ensure effective and on time closure of issues. Execute a frequent and robust escalation process 
  • Identify and document all project deliverables and the timing of those milestones within an overall program framework
  • Weekly report out development status (Scorecard/OKRs) and track KPI's and JIRAs at Attribute Leadership meetings
  • Provide insight around potential risks and opportunities, resolve conflict, initiate resolution and deliver results

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Graduation in Engineering
  • Vehicle Performance: + 5 years
  • Experience in Vehicle Performance Attribute workstream, including Range/ Efficiency, Charging performance, On Road performance, Gradeability, Driveability and Off Road
  • Experience in  vehicle data acquisition (using loggers) , data analysis and creating reports
  • Experience in executing or supporting tests in test facilities and Proving Grounds
  • Good communication, strong team work behavior, excellent reporting, focus on results, deliver results on a timely manner, mindset geared towards continual improvement to processes and methodology
  • Ability to Work in Systems: Titan and Polarion; MS Office

 

PreferredExperience  

  • Applied Experience in Electric Vehicles highly desired
  • Experience in a complete vehicle development cycle from Conception to Launch

Salary will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, training, skillset, location, etc.  Expected salary range in CA – $119,900 - 143,900 annually
