To support advanced vehicle development with a focus on packaging buck / physical evaluations, benchmarking, occupant position, metrology.


Responsibilities (The 80’s of the Position)

  • Support human factors attributes for multiple vehicle programs.
  • Deliver occupant packages – work with engineering and design to reduce compromises.
  • Generate, catalogue, and implement within the design human factors requirements for all aspects of the vehicle, including HMI, Cockpit Layout, Visibility, Ingress/Egress, Seating, Clearances, Cargo etc.
  • Communicate requirements to design, studio engineering and engineering teams.
  • Design, develop and utilize physical and virtual prototypes to aid in validating both human factors criteria and product design, including the use of virtual human modelling where appropriate.
  • Lead user clinics to resolve human factors issues.
  • Measure and communicate ergonomic status in relation to common standards (SAE J1100).
  • Ensure ergonomic homologation standards are met (i.e vision requirements FMVSS 111/ECE R46).
  • Create detailed vehicle benchmarks (JD Power, A2Mac1, etc).
  • Research relevant trends and stay abreast of developments in the automotive ergonomics field.


Required Experience 

  • 4 Year Higher Education in relevant field (engineering, automotive design, etc).
  • Minimum 5 years of automotive ergonomic background.
  • Great knowledge of the automotive landscape, particularly electric vehicles.


  • Understanding of metrology as it pertains to package bucks and occupant positioning.
  • Proficient with both CAVA and RAMSIS.
  • Highly proficient with Catia V5 (Catia V6 / 3D Experience is preferred)


Travel Requirements


This position may require occasional travel to evaluate physical properties.

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use.
