Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Industrial Automotive Construction Project Manager to lead the setup of a new automotive manufacturing plant in Pryor Oklahoma. This position requires a strong understanding of automotive construction and project management practices. As a successful candidate, you will have a background in engineering, project management, and a history of effective team leadership. We are seeking a candidate that has managed construction projects in the automotive industry from engineering through completion.

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of a new automotive manufacturing plant. Existing plant to be updated to manufacture ultramodern EVs
  • Develop and implement project timelines and schedules to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and Canoo management.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise the efforts of the project team, including engineers, technicians, and construction workers.
  • Regularly provide project updates to senior management, including progress reports, budget updates, and risk assessments.
  • Implement risk management strategies to minimize the impact of project uncertainties.
  • Manage contract negotiation and administration.
  • Oversee quality control throughout the project's life cycle.
  • Lead problem-solving and resolution efforts to address project issues.
  • Manage and report on change orders and scope updates

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is needed. A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration would be an asset.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification is necessary.
  • Proven experience (minimum 10 years) as a Project Manager in the automotive industry or relevant field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, familiarity with construction/ project management software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A team player with leadership abilities.

 

PreferredExperience  

 

  • Previous management of automotive industrial construction for EV (Electric Vehicle) manufacturing is preferred.
  • Diverse past leadership roles
  • 20+ years of experience in an automotive construction setting
