Overview

The Canoo IT Department is looking for an Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Manager who will oversee and manage critical infrastructure services globally. The Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Manager oversees the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, procedures, rules, regulations, and technology. You will ensure that the infrastructure solves existing and future needs and prioritize efforts based on business value. You will work directly with the IT leadership team in our Justin, TX office and collaborate with leaders across various functions, including finance, operations, marketing, and HR, to create a horizontally aligned IT operations roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the company’s Cloud, Network, and Infrastructure strategy to build a secure, scalable enterprise-grade ecosystem.
  • Lead the IT Operations team by bringing together subject matter experts across the organization.
  • Overall management of the global IT infrastructure, including strategy, operations, incident and problem management, IT infrastructure maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and manage a production support model for IT, Product Cloud, and Infrastructure operations.
  • Monitor operational controls to ensure integrity through the value chain.
  • Enable effective, efficient working relationships with business and technology partners.
  • Create and monitor strategic metrics to support the assessment of progress against the operational strategy.
  • Responsible for technology evaluation and the entire technology lifecycle for infrastructure technologies.
  • Develop infrastructure sourcing strategy and manage strategic vendor and partner relationships to achieve department objectives.
  • Provide direction on emerging technologies to be incorporated into infrastructure products and services to deliver the overall IT strategy successfully.
  • Introduces innovative, differentiating infrastructure capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and employee productivity.
  • Collaborates with the Security team to ensure infrastructure embraces and applies necessary security strategy.
  • Drive cloud-first initiatives with best-of-breed industry providers such as GCP, AWS, and Azure.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience in IT.
  • 7 years of experience leading and managing IT operations or programs focused on infrastructure.
  • Proven track record collaborating effectively with IT support teams, ensuring clear and concise communication resulting in adherence to service level agreements.
  • Strong self-starter with an ability to navigate successfully through ambiguity to provide recommendations on project direction.
  • Strong work ethic with flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Able to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications including content creation through various mediums.

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of automotive/technology development, manufacturing operations, and industrial dynamics.
  • Knowledge of Software and Product development lifecycle and support operations.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel up to 30% may be required.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use
