Overview

Canoo is looking for an energetic, results-oriented Service Technician that desires an exciting career in the Electric Vehicle Industry.

Responsibilities

 

  • Travel to locations to support Canoo Mobile Service
  • Execute basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work on all aspects of Canoo vehicles
  • Execute technical repairs without supervision.  (i.e. interior/exterior, front/rear body adjustments, charging, alert/log analysis, fluids/maintenance, door handles/accessories)
  • Serve as direct contact with the customer, leaving a lasting impression of our Brand and delighting our customers along-the-way
  • Follow Canoo repair procedures with efficiency without compromising quality and safety
  • Perform or assist with assigned diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles
  • Collaborating to develop/refine repair procedures
  • Assist or support vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service center
  • Perform necessary parts operations such as parts ordering, receiving, shipping and inventory
  • Stay up to date with technical skills and required training
  • Support campaigns and containment initiatives
  • Maintain and process accurate expense reporting as needed
  • Maintain high quality work and efficiency while working with little supervision
  • Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit in an ever-changing, dynamic environment
  • Ability to perform duties and communicate with a high level of professionalism, in a customer facing environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience working as an automotive service technician or in an automotive repair shop
  • 5+ years’ experience using a work order management system, including repair documentation
  • 5+ years’ experience working with diagnostics/hand/power tools
  • 5+ years' experience working with parts departments and/or billing systems
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Strong understanding of written and spoken English
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics.
  • Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, or as needed
  • Must be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business need. Shifts may include evening, overnight, or early morning hours
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle
  • No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period)
  • Proactive and assertive leadership abilities and keen decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited automotive repair school
  • 5+ or more years’ experience in a traditional automotive repair shop
  • Ability to drive non-commercial truck/trailer
  • Section 609 Refrigerant handling certification
  • Experience working in start-up environments
  • Have a passion for sustainable transportation and changing the automotive industry
