The Battery Test and Validation Engineer’s purpose is to plan and execute battery testing per the Design Validation Plan. This position relates specifically to thermal testing, so working knowledge of flow systems and heat transfer analysis is required. The engineer will write test plans, build DUTs with proper instrumentation, and analyze thermal data. Battery thermal testing includes testing all temperature conditions and validating component temperature requirements. This job is hands-on in the Canoo Battery Lab, working alongside other battery test engineers.

The Battery Safety Engineer will work with the Battery Design Engineers to validate battery module and pack safety performance. They will also work cross-functionally with the homologation team to develop test methods for the applicable regulatory and industry requirements. The battery safety engineer will be responsible for test method development, test execution and data analysis. Previous experience in an automotive role is required.
