As a core member of the Powertrain team, the eDrive Engineer is responsible for bringing the current drive unit and advanced concepts to life. This role’s main responsibility is to design components, lead research, and coordinate with suppliers on the design and advancement of propulsion technology. This position will report directly to the Powertrain Team and work with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, design, quality, test and validation engineers, and the designers.
As a core member of the Systems Engineering team, the Electrical Integration Engineer is responsible to architect, integrate, and validate the low voltage systems of Canoo’s vehicles. This role is an enabler for cross-functional development of the electrical system between the electrical component design responsible engineers, the system integration engineers, and test/validation engineers. Success in this role requires an individual who is comfortable both architecting electrical integration solutions behind a computer and bringing electrical systems up live on a vehicle.
The Principal Vehicle Security Architect is responsible for creating security detailed designs for the EPF, including countermeasure implementation necessary to mitigate risks associated with attack vectors inherent to telematic devices, LTE IoT devices, connected vehicles, and in-vehicle networks.
In addition to In-Vehicle security design and architecture, countermeasure implementation, and detailed policy/standard creation, the role is responsible for:
- Continuous improvement of VST Testing Lab capability.
- Continuous improvement secure boot capabilities and cryptography detailed design and implementation.
- OTA and Diagnostic security.
- Communications security (e.g., LTE, BTE, In-Vehicle networks, cellular-links to Cloud, etc.).
- Continuous improvement of Vehicle Security Monitoring capabilities and anomaly detection per TARA modeling and high-fidelity use cases.
The role ensures that In-Vehicle security is repeatable, automated, and focused on the “Right” things. The VST solves existing and future needs, prioritizes efforts based on risk, and roadmaps all things to help Canoo “Do it Better”.
You’ll work directly with the executive team in our Justin, TX office and collaborate with leaders across a wide range of functions including Product Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, and 3rd Parties. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from many experts across several technical disciplines.

The Battery Design Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design and engineering of various high voltage and high energy content Battery Packs for Canoo Vehicle applications. The right candidate will support mechanical design of battery packs from concept to production

The person Senior Engineer – CAE – Model Build will be responsible for the vehicle CAE model build by collaboration with other departments in a fast-paced EV development.
Must be willing to work onsite at one of our locations in Michigan, Oklahoma, or Texas.
Within this role you will be responsible for engineering product development and delivery for multiple display used in our vehicles. You will have complete responsibility for delivering the display systems in line with program timing and forecasted budgets. The ideal candidate needs to be extremely technically oriented, understand how to ‘get things done’ while being able to work autonomously. This role will report directly to the Director of Interior Systems and the delivery of the displays within our vehicles will be your responsibilities. Within the Interior Systems team we have mechanical engineer who help with the integration, we our seeking an engineer with displays ownership experience in a DRE capacity.
Strong contributions to the design, implementation, and testing of the Canoo vehicle. Assist with requirement documentation at the vehicle, system, and sub-system levels. Support integration and testing of features.
