As a core member of the Systems Engineering team, the Sr. Electronics Engineer is responsible to help define, architect, and bring to life the low voltage systems of Canoo’s vehicles. This role is an enabler for cross-functional development of the product between the design responsible engineers, the test and validation engineers, and the system integration engineers. Success in this role requires an individual who is comfortable both analyzing electrical integration solutions behind a computer and bringing electrical systems up live on a vehicle.
The Chief of Staff (“CoS”) will report directly to the Chairman & CEO (“CEO”) and will work closely with all members of the CANOO executive leadership team and all relevant outside parties like banks, consultants, customers, suppliers, lawyers, accountants, and co-investors. The CoS will represent the CEO and be accountable to manage output driven workstreams to drive results on activities across all business operations, customer meetings, negotiations, investments and acquisitions, and all other CEO level topics, such as investor meetings, board meetings, industry, and customer events and more.
At CANOO, our team members volunteer for their specific missions with clear output driven deliverables based on what we call “80s” (primary responsibilities) and “20s” (secondary and tertiary responsibilities).
The Principal Engineer, Cloud Security will be an integral member of the Information Technology (IT) team focused on Canoo’s overall Cloud Security posture, DevSecOps, Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), detailed technical standards and playbooks, and implementing tools to improve the security of cloud workloads.
The Principal Engineer, Cloud Security will architect and manage the secure operation of the Canoo’s cloud based technical infrastructure. This role includes responsibility for technical security implementation, administration of security systems, creating and maintaining accurate technical documentation and playing a pivotal role in developing a penetration testing program and organizing red team activities. The Canoo IT Department is looking for a Sr. Manager, Connected Vehicle/Platform Security, reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). This role is tightly engaged with the Software Engineering and Product Development teams to drive the security of Canoo’s In-Vehicle Electronic Platform (EPF).
The Sr. Manager, Connected Vehicle/Platform Security, is responsible for creating security detailed designs for the EPF, including countermeasure implementation necessary to mitigate risks associated with attack vectors inherent to telematic devices, LTE IoT devices, connected vehicles, and in-vehicle networks.
In addition to In-Vehicle security design and architecture, countermeasure implementation, and detailed policy/standard creation, the role is responsible for:
- Continuous improvement of VST Testing Lab capability.
- Continuous improvement secure boot capabilities and cryptography detailed design and implementation.
- OTA and Diagnostic security.
- Communications security (e.g., LTE, BTE, In-Vehicle networks, cellular-links to Cloud, etc.).
- Teaming with Security’s DevSecOps talent to continuously improve CI/CD pipelines feeding In-Vehicle software.
- Continuous improvement of Vehicle Security Monitoring capabilities and anomaly detection per TARA modeling and high-fidelity use cases.
The role ensures that In-Vehicle security is repeatable, automated, and focused on the “Right” things. The VST solves existing and future needs, prioritizes efforts based on risk, and roadmaps all things to help Canoo “Do it Better”.
You’ll work directly with the executive team in our Justin, TX office and collaborate with leaders across a wide range of functions including Product Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, and 3rd Parties. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from many experts across several technical disciplines.
Responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to ensure they meet company quality standards.
The Test Facilities Manager will lead our overall test facility operations, managing the scope & creation of new test laboratories and workshops, ensuring efficient uptime of existing test laboratories with execution of their respective maintenance projects, as well as leading the Test Facilities staff.
The Workshop Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, and service of our test vehicles.
Canoo has needs for qualified multi-craft technician to continually monitor production and act accordingly to maintain optimal equipment utilization. The technician will perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, ensures compliance with engineering specifications and/or codes.
Apply reliability and maintainability data to determine proactive improvements to production equipment. As a Maintenance Multi-Craft Technician, you will perform preventive/planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic system, cylinders and valves, air compressors and responsible for plant facility equipment. Use software programs and testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Additionally, will identify trends, periodically analyze equipment/machine issues, perform necessary adjustments, identify root cause, and initiate corrective actions.
The EV Technician will be comfortable working hands on as well as computer based tasks. Applicants should be comfortable with and willing to travel as well as reporting to Canoo HQ in Justin, TX.
The Component Test Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of tests for design validation in the areas of Motor, Inverter, Drive Unit, Power Electronics, Charging, HV Battery, and Low Voltage hardware.
The Battery Test Technician will support battery test engineers in the setup, execution, and analysis of lithium-ion battery testing at the cell, module, and pack level. The technician will be responsible for building test fixtures and assisting with lab activities.
As a core member of the Systems Engineering team, the system engineer with Functional Integration focus is responsible to help bring advanced concepts to life and keep the test vehicle fleet fit for test. This role is the enabler for cross-functional development of the product between the design responsible engineers, the test and validation engineers, and the designers.
The Cell Test Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of cell level electrically testing. Test engineer is responsible for design of experiments, setup of test equipment, analysis of data and reporting to help drive battery development.
As a Systems Integration Engineer for Diagnostic Software, you will lead the architecture and implementation of diagnostic functionality within Canoo’s vehicle software, utilizing the Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) protocol. You will be responsible for diagnostic test design and generation of software requirements to define diagnostic functionality within the vehicle. You will interface with engineering, software, and manufacturing to ensure the vehicle can be successfully initialized and calibrated. The crux of this role will be to understand current vehicle software controls and devise the best diagnostic strategy for each implementation. The desire and ability to take full ownership of each diagnostic test within your domain is a must.

The ECU Design Release Engineer is responsible for leading the development and sourcing of the in house control units and to ensure the products satisfy all requirements.
The battery test and validation engineer’s purpose is to plan and execute battery tests as per the design validation plan. The battery systems test engineer will develop and execute test plans to verify Canoo battery systems and components meet the design requirements and regulations. This is an in-lab and hands-on position; we are looking for engineers with previous experience in a design or test engineer environment.
